Since the opening of the registration period for the Metal Wind Course
on last April 1st – a perfection course specialized in tuba,
euphonium, trumpet, horn and trombone – the organization of the
festival has received more than fifty registrations, despite the fact
that there are still more than two months to go before the start of
this event.
In the trombone category, the inscriptions were only open for twenty
days. “It is important to set a limit on the number of students per
speciality,” explains the organisation of the festival, “in order to
guarantee a minimum number of individual classes for each student,
which is essential for a course that focuses on quality.
The fourth edition of this international festival will take place from
16th to 20th July in Caudete and will bring together students and
music lovers from a wide range of backgrounds for further education
classes, workshops, conferences and concerts.
Numskull Brass Festival Caudete is much more than a brass music
course. The Nocturnal Concert Series – an open-air concert during each
of the festival nights – will put on stage artists of the stature of
the Portuguese Sérgio Carolino (tuba soloist of the Orchestra
Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música), the player from Albacete, Ricardo
Mollá (solo trombone of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra) or the
Asturian Alberto Menéndez (solo trumpet of the BBC Scottish Symphony
Orchestra), to form a cast of more than 20 musicians from some of the
most relevant orchestras today. Admission to the concerts will be
free.
